2014 Christmas Stocking Round-up

Traditional Christmas Stockings with a South House Twist

Yes, sadly, I am completely SOLD OUT for 2014.

I am currently taking orders for January shipping. After the January orders are shipped, the 2014 groupings will be packed away and only sold to those who have already purchased from this group and need to expand their collection as their families expand.

If you would like to place a January order, just send me an email via the “Contact” button under “About” on the right side or through the convo system in my Etsy shop. Be sure to tell me which stockings you want and I will post you a private listing in Etsy. Or I can send you an email invoice through PayPal.

The stockings are $32 each, plus shipping ($5.75 for the first and $1.50 for each additional, assuming US destination).

If you’d prefer to wait to see the 2015 designs, then I’d suggest subscribing to SouthHouseDesigns.com (“Subscribe” button on the right) or “like” South House Designs on FB and then you will be among the first to know when they are available.

The Christmas Stocking Collections this year include a couple of new renditions of returning favorites, a more traditional collection inspired by Tuscany, a highly requested Blue & White, a copper tinged “lodge”-inspired grouping, AND the big addition of a collaboration collection from KariAnne of Thistlewood Farms. And if you know KariAnne, you know it’s neutral, but with a kick.

As you are pulling together a grouping for your family, don’t be restricted by rules. Heck, there are no rules. No restrictions. There are no barriers between groupings. Mix and match as you like. And if you want to stay within a group, but need an additional combination to complete your family. Just ask, I can put together another mix or two for you.

There is a lot of information about ordering my stockings here. This information includes, the ordering procedure, my Stocking The Pantry Fund Drive, quantity discount requests, right pointing toe requests, AND those fabulous name tags.

Thistlewood Farms Collection

This grouping is the product of a new adventure for me – a collaboration with the amazing KariAnne Wood of Thistlewood Farms. No one does neutral like KariAnne! She fearlessly mixes the cool and the warm tones of neutral in perfect balance. The result is a fresh neutral with attitude!

If you like your holiday bling, these are for you, pairing perfectly with mixed metal combinations.

Vanilla & Cream

Back by popular demand, a super neutral blend in every shade of vanilla and cream. This is a great group for when you want it all light. Or if you want Christmas stockings to harmonize with your non-Christmasy color scheme. Turquoise & burgundy? No problem. Style these neutral stockings with ribbons, baubles and bows in those colors. Stunning. Yet with 16 different textiles in the group, it is anything but boring.

Coastal Christmas Stockings

Christmas Stockings in the soft, muted colors of sand, surf and driftwood. Their casual, laid back vibe will bring the best of coastal living to any geography.

Black & White and a Little Red Allover

What’s Black and White and a little Red allover? Penguins, nuns and newspapers excluded, my Christmas stockings of course! This year’s encore collection bridge the black and white with all shades of grey, and a liberal sprinkling of red for that festive touch. So very classic and handsome!

Lodge Plaid Christmas Stockings

A rich blend of plaid and paisley, stripes and burlaps brings a tailored, rustic touch for a lodge style Christmas. And this traditional grouping brings an updated twist with copper and teal accents – perfect for your cabin, whether it’s urban, suburban or tucked in the pines at the end of a ski run.

The Blues Christmas Stockings

Special for those whose heart beats to the rhythm of Blue & White. It’s a diverse blend of shades and textures from moire to denim, stripes to solids to even a Ralph Lauren floral — all in perfect harmony!

No one-hit wonder here! Add muslin, burlap and vintage red accents and you have Americana. And compass, buoys and rope and you have nautical. Add white porcelain and boxwoods (as pictured) and you have fresh transitional. How will you be singing The Blues?

Tuscan Christmas

As close to traditional Christmas Red & Green as I suspect I will ever go. But, I was inspired by a glorious trip to Tuscany this summer rather than Santa and his elves’ wardrobes.

Tomatoes, olives, pasta and wheat fields, terra cotta roofs, ancient dark worn cobblestones, Nutella gelato, … Awww, Tuscany! These Tuscan-inspired stockings are filled with all these bold earthy colors and textures.

Yep, red & green, but with a twist – more olive and tomato – with a bit of chocolate for a touch of sweet balance.

You really should have this stocking pattern professionally written with pictures!!…. It would sell soooo easy !!!!
You could sell it at the International Quilt Market.
    I justLove it !!!!

  2. Sharon H says:

Are you kidding me? I’d buy this stocking pattern in your hand-written, and rough sketch-pictured instructions, right this very minute! And if you’re willing to do that, just email me…..seriously.

I LOVE the looks of all of them. And I’m wanting to make stockings for my family but my SS check won’t allow me to buy ready-made ones. Lucky for me I can sew, but there are very few patterns that I like.

and that karianne is such a sweetie….this collection is super cute!

  3. Love these! And I love Karianne! 🙂

  4. Leslie Stevens says:

Of course, Leslie! There is a link right below each group of pictures that will take you straight over to that group in my shop.

      Thanks Bunches!!!

  5. Lise says:

Wow! Love to see a woman entrepreneur like yourself become a success with such a great idea! Your choices of fabrics and colors are classic and fun!

  7. Sheila says:

These are lovely…each and every one!

  8. WONDERFUL. So non-traditional yet a bit of red for those who are!

  9. Jeni says:

I can’t remember how many times I have looked at your stockings and fell in love with them. As a sewer I like to handcraft items myself, however, I am not as creative as you with color and pattern choices. I have read the above comments and would buy the pattern in a heartbeat but I also think a stocking kit would be great with the pattern and fabric included for purchase. I have purchased patterns in the past from someone who started out selling her finished product but then she offered patterns of those items and I bought each one. I love your beautiful photo’s and Thistlewood Farms, great collaboration!

  10. Mandy says:

With our total remodel at its end, I so need to redeco everything. These are percect with our farmhose theme. Is tbere a pattern available?

    • admin says:

Congrats on the end of a remodel — a remodel, and your survival, are definitely reasons to celebrate! I’ve had many recent requests and am not currently selling the pattern. Something I might consider for the future.

      • Mandy says:

Thank you so much for your kind response. These are so gorgeous! After visiting your Etsy shop, I see you and I were neighbors once upon a time. I used to live in Savannah and shop in your town at the local quilt store. Those were the days! Even visited the peony farm on the skirts of your town. Are they still there? They had the most beautiful yellow peonies.

  11. Laura Dalton says:

Absolutely beautiful! I may have missed it, but what are the dimensions of the stockings?

    • admin says:

No, you didn’t miss the dimensions here (they are in the item details in the shop).

The stockings are 17-inches tall, 12-inches toe to heel and 8-inches across the opening. And of course, fully lined. I’m rather picky that way. These stockings are all crafted in my bright, sunny studio in NW Missouri.

  12. Lake Gifford says:

Last year you had a lime and coconut color combination. Will you be bringingt that palat for 2014? Thank you.

    • admin says:

      Thanks for asking.
Not bringing it back as an official offering, but I can make up a few more. Send me an email with with how many and which combinations you want and I’ll see what I can do for you.

  13. Britta Thomforde says:

I am interested in the vanilla and cream stockings but when I click on the link it says the item is unavailable. Is the item truly unavailable?

  14. Sam says:

Are these still available or are they available year round? I want to get 5 assorted ones of the black and white and a little red all over collection but I want to purchase them for next christmas (2015) I wanna purchase them in January

  15. Kim says:

Your work is beautiful!! Can I request you make a pattern next year with different shades of browns, creams, and maybe an olive or sage green…but no blue at all? I love your stockings and want to order but don’t want any blue shades in them.

    • admin says:

I love having input! Thanks and I will note your request when I am searching out fabrics. It often depends on what fabrics I can find. Keep your fingers crossed.
